Experience the friendship of the Embera people!
After a drive of only 25 minutes from
the port of Colon, or
one hour from
Panama City, you will take a
gorgeous and tranquil 20 minute
canoe ride to our village for possibly
the
highlight of your time in  Panama!
Located near the Gatun River in beautiful PANAMA, Central America
Bienvenidos, WELCOME, to the website for our village!  Here you will find all the
information you need to decide if you would like to visit us, and the details to make it all
very easy for you. We can pick you up right at your hotel, or you can find your way to
the bridge over the Rio Gatun along the main highway between Panama City and Colon.

We love to share our culture with people, and can promise you a friendly and
interesting visit that is guaranteed to touch your heart.  You can find other Embera
villages that are deeper in the jungle, but none which are easier to get to, or more of a
joy to visit!  Please take some time to look over these photos, descriptions, videos, and
testimonials and feel free to contact us with any questions.

Embera kids are so friendly!  They will line up
to greet you and you will soon be instant
friends.  They won't "bug" you, but if you want
a little pal for the day, you'll have one!
The Rio Gatun is pretty and placid. No rapids
here, just beautiful trees, many birds and
animals, and cool, clear waters.
Our Chief, the "Noko" of the village will
greet you warmly.  Amagara says,
"Welcome to our community!"
You'll eat an Embera feast of fish,
plantain, and rice, served in a bijao
leaf with delicious Uate juice, too!
Here are some of the famous
hand-made crafts from the Embera
people. You'll want to bring a few
things home with you - baskets,
cocobolo carvings, necklaces, and the
wonderful tagua nut animals and
designs. (lower left in photo)
Some new Embera friends show off
their recent purchases.  More info on
these amazing crafts in the next few
weeks on this website.
Yes, all of these flowers are
picked around our village.  The
natural smiles are from right
here, too!  Say,
"Emberaaa!"
